With over two decades of experience in the salon industry, I have had the privilege of working and experiencing the various roles in the salon before finally stepping behind the chair myself. My journey began working at a salon in my hometown of Ellicott City, MD at the age of fourteen. In 2001, I moved to Boston to pursue my education at Northeastern University. While in school, I began working as a receptionist at a salon on Newbury Street. With my Communications degree in hand, I continued to further my education at Paul Mitchell The School in Tampa, FL.
My passion for education has stayed strong. I have now been working behind the chair at Stilisti on Newbury Street in Boston for 13 years. I serve as an in house educator for Stilisti as well as a brand educator for ghd. Behind the chair, I specialize in multi dimensional colors and cuts with a passion for blondes and extensions. Out of the chair, my passion is for educating other stylists and working to elevate our industry as a whole.
Do my experiences and education matter? Absolutely. Because they have shaped me and contributed to my overall skill set. But what really matters? Having both a retention rate and booking percentage consistently over 90% and retail sales between $30-40K annually. And doing all that while waking up feeling 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 to go to work. 𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙇𝙔 looking forward to seeing my clients. Knowing that my 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 can handle long days on my feet. Genuinely finding 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 in my work and personal life.
I truly believe that we all RISE together. All of my experiences and education has culminated with the birth of It’s Not About The Hair. I am SO excited to share my knowledge with you to help you elevate your business and life behind the chair and beyond!
